The Institute for Prospective Technological Studies
IPTS is located in

. Since 1994, IPTS promotes and allows a better understanding of the technology, economy and society linking. Its mission is that of supporting the European Union in taking decisions, by elaborating scientifically documented solutions,
so answering the socio-economic, technological and scientific challenges.
Mainly, the institute actions respond to European Union general directions requests. More, lately, many projects has been accomplished after European Parliament demands. IPTS closely collaborates with other JRC institutes, along other European partners. Its activities respond in the main to requests coming from the general directions of the European Commission.
